My baby girl sulcata just hit puberty last year (14 yrs old 50lbs) and laid eggs for the first time - and all over the yard. This was a shock because I had just been told by a so-called expert that my Penny was a boy( Oh well). Early this spring I arranged a play date for her so that this year her eggs would be fertile. (She had fun!! ) But she never laid eggs this year. Is that unusual? or is it because she is still young?

I don't know a lot of about breeding/egg laying for torts, but maybe if she has fertilized eggs this year, it'll just take her a bit longer to lay them?
