]Hi,
My Annette and I live in British Columbia, Canada.
I have a Hermann's tortoise. She/he turned six years old on Aug.6,2012. I got her as a hatchling. she has done very well and has a perfect carapace. Just yesterday I took in a Red footed tortoise that is 4 years old with pyrmiding. My Hermann's, Ellie was suppose to be female but for the last few years I think maybe is male. I have looked on the internet many times but can't tell. Its so hard to tell if you don't have the opposite sex to compare with. Also the new tortoise is suppose to be male but now they think it is female. I would finally like to settle this as it is driving me crazy!I tried to attach photos but it didn't work? Annette

Welcome to the forum! Your hermanns is just absolutely beautiful! Your hermanns is a female and I cant tell what the redfoot is.

thanks, I will post the rest of the redfoot pictures. Ellie wants to mount the casters on my chair and even bites it and makes a noise so I thought she must be a male. thankyou!! so glad to finally know for sure.
