Hello everyone! I am new here & am so excited to have other turtle owning "friends" to talk to now
I have an American box turtle named Daisy. She is around 16-17 yrs old. I have had her for 10+ yrs. She was living with my cousin for the past year and I just recently got her back. She doesn't look so good her nails are super long, as well as her beak, she's missing a toe on each of her front feet and she has lost a lot of her bright coloring and weight. She has always hibernated during winter, while in my care, but there is NO WAY I'm letting her this winter, she's just not healthy enough. We have a vet appointment this Wednesday so, wish us luck. I look forward to nursing her back to health. Any thoughts, suggestions or comments about how to keep her moving would be appreciated. Her eyes and "ears" look good, no swelling, no discharge from her nose either. I am very hopeful
