Hello and welcome to the TFO from AZ . Great looking golden Greek tort ! I noticed the 2x Picts , one seems to have sand sub straight in it and the other seams to have wood shavings both are not good for torts ! Have a great tort day :

Hi Grandpa Turtle,

There is no sand in the enclosure. There is paper towel throughout the warm side of the tank and aspen bedding for the cooler hiding area. The breeder that I purchased him from informed me that this would be the best set up for the hatchling. The aspen bedding retains moisture quite well. Sonic has not been eating it. As he grows older we will move him to top soil/sand.

One question for everyone: Should I be waking him up in the morning to feed and bathe or should I let him sleep?

Thanks!

Remember the tort thinks it's in wild and in the wild first to move becomes some ones dinner but as soon as it sees you as the food god it will change . Have a great day :)
