I am getting ready to replace my Zoo Med Powersun 100W 1 year old bulb over my Russian enclosure.

Do I need to acclimate the tortoise to the new light?? Im assuming the old bulb has lost some degree on intensity.

Should I lessen the photoperiod, raise the lamp, etc??

Thanks

I don't think so. One thing you can do is turn the light on, and for the first day its running, not have the tort underneath it, if that makes you feel better. Its what some people call the "Burn-in" period. I don't, but you can if you'd like. I use my bulbs right out of the box.

I use them right out of the box as well, i just check the temp ever 10 mins until i am comfortable with the results, and make adjustments if i need to

I use mine straight out of the box too, but make sure you check that temp. There can be quite a surprising amount of variability from bulb to bulb.
