I just wanted to point out that pairs aren't great for tortoises. Please be careful and watch for any bullying. This can be shown with constant mounting, head bobbing, biting, one of them hiding all the time and not eating. They can never really get away from each other in a small enclosure.
Some hatchlings just pass for seemingly no reason. Sometimes they pass because they were started out wrong. Hopefully someone can elaborate on this, I've never raised babies nor hatched them.
