Hello! I am currently setting up an indoor enclosure for my baby sulcata and I am very confused about the lighting/heat. I am planning on buying a CHE, heat lamp and UV lamp. What brands/types do you recommend? How do I keep the enclosure from getting too hot? I know coiled UV bulbs cause eye problems. Thanks!

Hi!
I use a mercury vapor bulb on a timer for heat and UVB (it's my torts sun :) ), and a CHE on a thermostat. Like that the enclosure will not overheat and the sun "rises and sets" at the right time. Just be careful to place the probe of the thermostat on tort level and check the temp right below the mercury vapor bulb so it will not cook your tort ;)
Good luck!

I also am a fan of the Mercury Vapor Bulb. I like Dutchie Amanda's response to your query.

Yes, I did everything DutchieAmanda told me to do and my tort is happier than ever!
