Need beak trimmed?

I'd say it's okay for now. To keep it at a good length feed on a flat rock and offer a cuttlebone. Not cutting up his food will also help.

You should not be worried. It's only a tiny bit overgrown. You can file it with one of those nail files meant for acrylic nails, or you can leave it alone.

Cuttle bone is good.

Your tortoise's beak looks just fine for his species. That's the way it should look. What helps to keep it in shape is allowing the animal to bite off pieces of his food (don't cut it up for him), and grazing and eating growing plants. And when you feed him other food besides allowing him to graze, feeding on a rough surface, like a piece of cement, helps to wear down the beak.

Thanks Yvonne. That's what I've been doing right now (not cutting up his food) but I sure will take your advice on that feeding on the cement part! Really appreciate it!
