I will certainly take your advise on keeping my babies safe. My lil guy, Beasty Boy, is suffering with a golf-size stone in his bladder. He's on antibiotics now, but he'll need surgery. My vet is conferring with a wildlife specialist and in the next day or two, I'll be instructed where to take him for the surgery. I cry even now to think that this little tort (10 months) will have his plastron cut open to get to the stone. I'll keep everyone posted on his progress. But, for now, I'm thinking of you and feel so sorry for you. Can I help in any other way? Sibi

TortoiseGurl, I am so sad at your loss. I wish things could have turned out better for you and hope you can find another special friend to share your life with in the near future.
Sibi, I just went through bladder stone surgery, 10 cm size stone, and hope everything works out well for you. It always sounds bad, but it does not seem to be that bad, my little guy is in his third week of recovery.

But when you choose and love such a tortoise you are their guardian angel, giving them more years and happiness than they would have found otherwise. She certainly loved you in whichever way a tortoise does love, and the only pain now is your own.
RIP to your tort
