I was contacted on craigslist about this guy! I drove an hour and a half to meet Fred and I walked around the yard and he followed me all over for like 20 minutes. The woman had him living in one of those kiddy pools out side and a 40 gallon breeder tank inside. I told I would be happy to take him and now he's in a 10' by 12' enclosure and loving it. I will be setting him up with an awesome set-up this week. Any advice would be helpful as I wasn't really expecting this size tort!

He looks good and is uber active. His outside setup wasn't too bad as his owner took him out and let him roam but it was just too much for her. And I got a great price too! FREE.99! :)

He looks great! How old is he? Wow, a 40G breeder? Bowser would go crazy in that.

Hi Ryan:

I'll bet he feels like he's died and gone to heaven! That lush green grass with weeds is just what he needs!

If your outdoor habitat is secure, and you can lock him in his house at night, then he's big enough to stay out 24/7.

I like in upstate ny. He's got a big area to roam around in and we will be building his home this week so for now he's staying inside at night.
Oh and I was told he's 5 or six. How does he look though? Im not familiar with them so if something is out of the ordinary ( with the exception of the lime green nail polish on his shell) please let me know. And how would I be able to remove that for him?

Lucky find! Looks to be in great shape, despite his former owner. I'd scratch the nail polish off with your fingernail.

What does he weigh. We need a pic with a size reference, like a Coke can or something. If you post a plastron pic showing the anal scute region and tail, we can probably sex him/her for you.

He's definitely male. I would guess he weighs about 25-30lbs. The nail polish is like four years old. I tried getting it off with my finger nail but its not coming off. Here's a picture of him next to my foot. I wear a size 15. Also here's a pic of his face. Its raining here and he wasn't too happy to have a camera stuffed in his face.
