If its a wild mushroom that you found growing outside, I wouldn't offer it to the tortoise. They may come upon things like that in their wild wanderings, but they have the option to eat or not in the wild. When you actually place food at the feeding station for a captive tortoise, he eats it because he's used to eating what the food god gives him. It might not be something that is edible.
