MALE OR FEMALE??

when i bought my russian tortoise, i was told that they couldnt 100% tell me what gender it was!! can you help?

looks female, small tail! female has a " * " on the tail.... male has a large tail with a " | ".

i agree, need more pics! but im guessing on the size of the tail... could be a male with a small tail! never know. so post pics
