I wouldn't use potting soil for a baby sulcata, mainly because of the very small particles that would stick to his food as he walks through the the food dish. That's why I like orchid bark. The particles are bigger and tend to not adhere to the tortoise's feet and shell.

What does the mix itself look like?I can't read the label but I believe it contains vermiculite? I would base my decision on how well the vermiculite is mixed in. Sometimes the vermiculite doesn't seem to blend in as well.
