Identification problem

I know that this is the common snapping turtle, but the turtles shell is pinkish-purple im confused. Here's a few pictures...

I think it is just a normal common snapper. the shell could just be dirty or naturally pinkish-purple

Just curious, is this your turtle, or is it just a wild turtle you see around from time to time?

Where are you located? It is indeed a common snapper, but the skin around the neck makes me think you have a Florida Snapping Turtle, which used to be a different subspecies Chelydra serpentna osceola. They've been combined with the Common Snapper now, but that doesn't mean they don't still look a bit different from one another.

So, are you around FL? Just wondering...
