I have two hibicuse trees, and I know the flowers and leaves are ok. Are the branches? Can I just cut a branch off and throw it in? Or should I strip the branches like I've been doing? I ask because the trees are due for a trim anyway...
I ran a few searches on my regular sites and found that there is nothing indicating that the branches are bad....also I have found that some folks actually use the branches in bird enclosures as a perch and a scratch for their beaks???? So, I would not "think" that they would pose a problem and I would not hesitate to toss a nice leaf and flower filled branch from the hibiscus shrub.... likely they will strip it of the nummy stuff anyway...I know that from time to time I will toss in a pruned branch from the chinese elm here to the CDTs and they love it...but as I mentioned, usually the stick after striped by the torts is then removed and becomes a nice dog chew...
