Hi everyone, my name is Michelle, I'm from Long Island, NY.
I've been reading here because I'm thinking of getting Sulcata hatchlings, my dad had a few Sulcatas way back for about 20 years (when I was very young) but our house had a fire and we had to move and give them up. He is thrilled that I may be getting some and he's been giving me tips every time we talk, it's kind of funny how excited he is.

I also have a situation with a RES if anyone can help I'm going to post that under the RES area.

welcome! i'm sure your dad can give you some really good advice since he kept them for so long, but please note that SO MUCH information has erupted even in the last 10 years about keeping sulcatas humid and feeding and everything...! make sure you read up before you get them!

so glad you joined!

Hi Michelle:

Welcome to the forum!!

Have you taken the Sulcata challenge:

http://turtlerescues.com/sulcata_challenge.htm

And yes...things have changed pretty drastically in the years since your dad had a sulcata. So do your homework before you really take the plunge.
