Hi, I've recently discovered a crack in the skin around my tortoise's mouth. Sometimes food gets stuck in it when she eats. Please tell me if this is something I should worry about.

His beak is overgrown. You should take him to a good reptile vet to get it shaved down and for a general health check as soon as you can.

@Yvonne G may have an idea if anything can be done or if a vet should do something with it
The break is not bad, a trim is not a top priority yet. I wouldn't do a health check, as most vets don't have a clue about tortoises. However, if Yvonne recommends the vet do something for the crack, then you could include a health check, just be careful of any meds or injections they may want to do.
