Hi everybody!
My name is Alexandra and I live in Ventura, CA. I just adopted 2 baby Sulcata Tortoises about 2 weeks ago. They're 4 months old.
I was so excited to find this forum and can't wait to chat with everybody and learn new things about these cute little guys!

Hi Alex and welcome. Your post caught my eye. I have a lot of friends in Ventura and get to spend a decent amount of time there. It's a great city.

Welcome AlexIbarra. Several of us live relatively close to you. I'm over in Santa Clarita, but I go out to Ventura from time to time. I've got four sullies right now, but I'm sitting on 7 new eggs. We'll see if they are fertile in a few more days. Anyhow, you've come to the right place to talk torts! We do a lot of that around here.

Are you a new tortoise keeper or are you a salty old-timer with a couple of new torts? There are lots of tips we'd all like to share, but we'll wait until you ask. Here are a couple of really cool sullie sites for you to browse. Some of the members here showed me these a few weeks ago and I really like them. There is a really good bit on Richard Fife's Ivory Tortoise site about pyramiding. I found it extremely informative.

Thanks for the websites, I'll definitely take a look at them!
I'm a new tortoise keeper. I've been fascinated by Tortoises for years, but never lived in the right environment to actually hold one until we moved to Ventura last year. Now we have a house with a big backyard where they'll have lots of room once they're ready to live outside and the weather here seems great for them.
I actually have a few questions I'll have to post later. :D
Thanks again!

Hi Alex.

Welcome to the forum. :D

So, how are your babies doing? Did you get them set up just right yet? We have lots of experienced Sulcata keepers here who can give you good advice. :p

Please post some pictures so we can admire your little ones. Any names yet?

Here's the photo thread: http://tortoiseforum.org/thread-5245.html

I posted a thread looking for some adivce earlier today. I was given quite some wrong information when I bought my tortoises :( I posted a picture of them in that thread. Unfortunately they don't have names yet, I just couldn't come up with anything I really liked yet.
