Growth Rate

Hi all, I have just joined this forum, 5 minutes ago. I was wondering what the growth rate is of an horsefield tortoise is, any help is gratefully appreciated, thanks.

There's no set rate. Every tort is different depending on its start in life and its current diet and habitat.

You're looking for steady growth over a long period of time. However, just like humans, sometimes they'll have a growth spurt and sometimes they'll stall for a while.

Russians are a very small species, and so they grow pretty slowly. Russian tortoises reach their full size from 8 years on. Some sooner, some later.
