Hi. I am starting to store dried flowers in jars for the dearth of winter. I thought I’d share a tip I learned from beekeeping. Before jarring your dried flowers, wash and dry your mason jars. Then put the jars into the oven for a few minutes, until they’re warm to barely-hot. This gets them completely dry. Then put in the flowers and put on the tops tight.

The control of moisture is a very important factor in honey storage. If the moisture is too high, the honey will spoil. I’m sure it is the same with dried flowers! This technique is not for sterilizing the jars. A certain temperature and time would be required for that. But with dried flowers, proper lack of humidity and a tight seal will be sufficient!
