Where are you and how is he housed? Indoors or out? What are his temps and lighting?

Its the time of year when they begin shutting down for hibernation. There is probably nothing wrong with the food you are offering, he just knows its time to stop eating so his gut will be empty for hibernation.

You'll need to decide if you want to hibernate or not, and take the right steps for either course.

ok thanks he is indoor and his temperature of his cage is mourned 30 degrees. He has a UV light as well. he has a vivarium with sliding glass doors but we have currently ordered a new table top enclosure as he has grown out of the one he is in. He has access to clean fresh water everyday and is bathed regally. The people who we got him from said they would hibernate him for us if he is the right weigh so we are taking him over there to be weighed.

If your tortoise is new he might not be eating a lot like mine the first few days. When you say food do you mean just pellets or all the vegetables. If you mean pellets normal Mazuri tortoise diet is great and t rex is good too, just don't feed him pellets all the time. For vegetables dandelion greens, turnip greens, and romaine lettuce is great. Koopa loves bok choi and the other choi. Escarole and endives works as well. If NOTHING works he may have mouth rot, go to the vet. Also I things have been going on he may just be stressed.

ok thanks. I have had him a while and i used to have him on pellets but i read places that they were bad for him so I i took him off them. i feed him fresh veg everyday. Pretty much what you suggested. the same thing happened last year so we took him to the vets as we thought something could be seriously wrong, they referred us to a reptile specialist and she told us he was fine. She recombined a baby food bath, i tried it and he perked up soon after i tried it again this time but it didn't have the same effect :( Maybe he is ready for hibernation?

He maybe ready for hibernation, so has he been a little more un-active or He may have becoming addicted to pellets. If you have a food and you feed it to your tortoise all the time they may only want to eat that food. This happened with Koopa and Romaine lettuce once. It was very hard but it didn't take to long.
