That would've been awesomeWas this pond that rectangular one in front of the Botanical Gardens? I think I've seen this turtle
Nice find! I'm not sure I'd want to mess with them either.

Hahaha! Maybe I've seen you thereYeah, that pond.
probably dumped there by some kids. How many total did you see?
Zoo escapees possibly?
Someone trying to start a feral breeding population?
Were any of them babies, as if they might have hatched there?
Cool find. Thanks for sharing.
probably dumped there by some kids.
there is no land area in that pond, so dont worry about breeding
pond is surrounded by PEOPLE, A LOT PEOPLEI worked in the pet trade for many years. Still sorta do. I never thought of this as a species that kids had much access to.
No land area? What is the pond surrounded by?
Are you sure they couldn't get out? There are grass like plants that I have seen near the back edge or the pond that they can use to get out...and there is a sandy area right near the little palm trees beside the pond for egg layingi dont think turtles can get out of that pond because of the edges .
btw the nearest natural water body is Pacific ocean, so good luck invading
So stop worry too much about them invading
oh i thought the whole conversation about whether they can get out or not is because they are not native species.lolWho are you talking to? I didn't hear anyone expressing concern about a Phrynops invasion.
