Divots in shell?

Just got a new Russian today. He seems healthy but I am curious, there are little divots on all if his dark spots. Is this normal or is this something I need to fix?

Kind of hard to see but there are little divots/indents in each of his dark marks

Do you want to know what those little divots are? Those are the texture your tortoise's shell got from the inside of the eggshell. All baby tortoises have those little divots, and then after hatching, since the shell is no longer pressing against the inside of the eggshell, it doesn't get those in the new growth.
The geek in me was fascinated by this when I first heard it...
