I am currently feeding my 4-year old Russian Tortoise carrots, leafy greens and a vegetable/fruit mix. Is calcium a dietary need? If so I am wondering what types of plants are rich with calcium or if i should by some sort of calcium supplement. :tort:

Collard greens are an excellent option and pretty easy to find at the grocery store. (Or grow, if you're so inclined.)

Opuntia cactus is also a great option. It is available at some grocery stores and relatively easy to grow.

You can also offer a cuttle bone and let him nibble on it when he feels he needs more calcium.

Cuttle bone will also help with keeping the beak trim and healthy. I buy it in bulk from Carolina Pet Supply.
