Brought a new tortoise home today, had to share!

I somewhat impulsively brought a new Hermann's home today (Testudo hermanni boettgeri, to be precise), however I definitely don't regret it at all. (S)he's absolutely lovely, fairly fearless and has already worked up the courage to have a little munch of Mazuri,

3 years old, SCL is 8-9cm, weight is approximately 119 grams and the shell is lovely and smooth. I suspect it's slightly to early to be sure of sex, but I'm thinking female, any ideas?

Congrats. Be sure to quarantine before you add her to any others you may have.
Looking female now, but I'm thinking still to young to do a positive ID. Besides, I'm not that good at sexing, specially that species.

Far too small to sex yet.

Good advice about quarantine. Keep entirely separately for at least 6 months. And if there's a large size discrepancy then keep separately anyway.

Don't worry, she's all by herself and will be for the foreseeable future!

You can usually se the sex when the weight is about 350 - 400 gram or 4-5 years old.
