Do Redfoots or other tortoises feel pain due to mild pyramiding?

My little GeeBee has a mild case - had it when I got him. I suspect due to a lack of calcium supplement (all he was fed was lettuce, squash and fruit before I got him).

Hi George (or Kathe):

I doubt that mild pyramiding causes any discomfort. The pain would come in if it were also associated with MBD.

The most likely source of pain would be if the deformity was enough to put pressure on the spinal column- the more extreme forms.
