Algae / Fungus on carapace / scutes. Any idea of treatment?

Am looking for a solution/treatment to remove the algae/fungus look alike on the tortoise carapace especially on the scutes. I tried to soak and brush with toothbrush but it just cant get off. Most likely it has etched inside the shell. Your recommendation is most welcome.

Can you post a picture of the problem so we can see what it is please?

Treatment for a fungal problem is very different to what you might do for watermarks and it's impossible to know what we're dealing with from your description

It's a Star and there's nothing unusual there to clean off. It may be mineral deposits from the water, but it's nothing to worry about and doesn't need treatment or removal.

Follow the instructions on the tube. A standard athlete's foot cream is all you need for shell rot, but I really don't see anything
