A glimpse of a very rare Mediterranean Mud tortoise known as Testudo dirtius muddi.
Okay, it's really just one of my Eastern Hermann's females that had just come up out of the ground from hibernation a few weeks ago!

Yeah, good thing for my tortoises that we're getting all this rain in the Northeast! Their food is growing like weeds (okay, they're food is weeds) and the rain is washing them off. At least all this rain is a benefit to someone!

That's a good one.
I'm planning to hibernate my hermann's this year as well.

You may think of that as mud, but to us girls it's a "masque" and we pay a bunch for it if we get it at the salon. And we're EXTRA BEAUTIFUL when it comes off, honest. So just look out, GB, she's going to be super-gorgeous.
