Wondering if its ok to feed a little mazuri everyday mixed with other greens? My tort seems to eat a lot more when mazuri is involved. He also gets lots of outside grazing time.
Some feed it every day some only couple times a week. I offer it to my leopard every day, however, he isn't as fond of it as a lot of torts are. As long as you give a good varied diet and that's not all he eats, I don't see a problem with it.
I know of no reason that you can't feed it everyday. To me it just seems like a boring diet for them. I am a little suspicious of processed foods, even for myself. But, I do eat them and I do feed Mazuri to Chuck. I add it to his regular meal of greens and/or hay once or twice a week. When Chuck was 18 months old ( he is now 40 months) Mazuri was his favorite food. Now he would prefer grape leaves or mulberry leaves or opuntia cactus. As for growth, Chuck seems to gain a pound a month whether he gets lots of Mazuri or not so much Mazuri. One of the biggest growth spurts he has had was when I ran out of Mazuri and he grazed more. It surprised me so much that I ordered more seed mix and doubled the size of his garden.
I like the idea of highly processed foods being used only as supplements. I think Mazuri is great as that, and I use it once a week. Would advise against feeding it daily and try instead for a more natural diet/variety.
