Looks like the Phoenix Zoo...the sliders inhabit the pond right under the bridge leading from the parking lot to the entrance:D

Nice photos!

The aldabra must have been Peter...the smaller aldabra male around 400 lbs. Do you have more photos of the galaps and aldabras?

Where are the photos of the radiateds?

I haven't been to the zoo in many years and don't know my way around the zoo at all. I included the pic's of those torts and turtles I did see - where are the radiated located? I don't know when I'll be able to get to the zoo again, but I'll be more careful and look harder. As for the other galaps and aldabras, most were in a position not suitable for a good pic.

The radiateds are housed with the ringtail lemurs (which is very close to the Orangutan exhibit)

I used to volunteer at the Phoenix Zoo...working with the Aldabras & Galaps.

I missed the lemurs and Orangutan exibits.. so I missed the radiateds. Guess I'll have to make another trip to the zoo. How wonderful to have had the experience of working with such magnificent torts as the Aldabras and Galaps. I still have my eye teeth and would love the chance to be closer in their presence.... But as it is, plate is rather full. I'll have to enjoy them from the other side of the fence.

thanks! teri
