I have a question what should the temperature be in the enclosure for a Russian tortoise and what should a basking temp be? Currently on the high end of it is 95 degrees and the low end is about 75 degrees

My Russian Tortoise has skin on top of his head that looks like it is peeling, do Russian Tortoise or Tortoise in general shed their skin like other reptiles, because that is want it look like? Plus his shell as if their are part of his shell that were chipped I question it didn't look right...

I have question, it may be simple but I haven't the luck to find the answer. Is coconut fiber the same thing as coconut coir? If not is one better than the other for a Russian Tortoise?

The Temps are on the high end around 85 degrees and on the low end 70 degrees. For lighting I have one 75 watt lamp and a full spectrum UVB light.

My Russian tortoise is hiding a lot and going underneath the reptile carpet, and I read something saying if their hiding a lot that not good. My question is that true and if so why and what should I do about it?
