How long so we need to keep doing our daily (or 6-days a week) soakings? Mo is creeping up on one year old. Is it for like the first year? First three years, then reduce the frequency? What's the timetable look like? Thanks

I do daily on mine until the age of two for sure. Once mine are big enough to go outside 24/7 then it's about once a month. However, mine have a water hole they can go into and two of mine will always self soak in their water bowls.

Mine are 2 1/2 and I stopped soaking them daily when they turned 2. They both soak themselves in their respective water dishes most days and I also see them both drinking everyday so I don't worry about soaking them anymore unless they get extra dirty and look like they need a "bath".

I go by weight:
Under 100 grams, I soak every day.
At 100 grams, I will start skipping an occasional day.
At 400-500, I'll start skipping multiple days a week.
At 1000+ grams, two or three times a week should be enough in most cases, but more often won't hurt anything.

@Tom - That was a wonderful key to go by... size or weight is so much more important than age... I can see that for myself with my little one.
