    Pallet Enclosure!

They are tenacious little things aren't they. I don't mind them, they were here before me so we have monitored day time jaunts in a pen and stay in an enclosure in the house at night and when unsupervised. You have to find what works for you. Loving everyone's pallet ideas though

    Pallet Enclosure!

And have an acre to build something that big with a climate and environment that allows an outside enclosure. I'm in a very wet, cold agricultural part of the UK. If I left my little guy out in something like that he'd drown or be eaten alive by rats, fox, cats, badgers, herons. There is...

    How are we doing now

When I first got Tom 2 years ago he hadn't had the best start and i didn't know as much as I should so he had some rapid growth and pyramiding. I'm hoping its stopped now but is there any way to tell if I have it under control now? I'm bathing every few days. Humidy around 60, temps 30 hot end...

    Breathing - Clicking/popping sound

I'm in holbeach on the east coast so we are a little cooler. Well this year was an exceptionally hot year so Tom has been in the garden with us alot. Tom has an indoor tank with a basking light one end and hide the other. He has some pyramiding we think from when we got him as it doesn't seem...

    Checking in

Thanks Tom That makes sense. Do my bulbs are ok bar rhe cage and u only need my uv on a few hours a day. I also need to ramp up my thermostat on my basking bulb to 37 which I can do. The tank is in front of a window and it's class fronted so there is natural light in there. Will that suffice...

    Checking in

Thank you. I'll work my way through all of that. It is a flood bulb but yes it dims on a thermostat, it is on all the time just varying degrees of light. The 7v bulb is years old, has heat reflector strips but is on 12 hours because that's the advice I git previously in this forum. I'm in the UK...

    Checking in

Just checking in....I changed my bulb as requested to a dome. Just wanted to check of there's anything I should add or take out of my indoor set up. Here's some pics of feeding, basking, bedding and water areas. I feed on a terracotta platform but also scattered. I have a shallow bathing dish...

    Update (scute lifting?)

I posted when I first got my tort for advise and subsequently changed the substrate and a few other things but tom had a weird shell issue. People suggested it was pyramiding but I'm not sure. His scutes seem to be lifting as if theyre about to come off. Theyre not, theyre solid but thrre...

    Little update

So I posted a few weeks back about my 2 Yr old horsefield tortoise called Tom. He had very sandy bedding which I changed and some unnecessary decorations taking up space in his inside tank which I took out so he has more room to roam. It's currently a toasty 26 to 30 degrees here so he's having...
