I am geographically challenged. Is @Gillian M in the area of the quake?
I remember telling a friend that another from college was flying back to Taiwan via America and she said "how can she do that? She'd go over the edge!"I had to take geography in grade school and even kinda enjoyed it. I can't remember it all though and have to use a map for even the USA let alone Africa..
The earthquake was felt as far away as the Canary Islands to the West of Morocco, Portugal and Spain to the North and Algeria to the East, but only as a slight tremor, no deaths or structural damage.I am geographically challenged. Is @Gillian M in the area of the quake?
Do you get points for texting cheese?Today, I will mostly be eating aerosol cheese.
That's not good eeeekkk 🥴Today, I will mostly be eating aerosol cheese.
There's a really easy way to move fawns. I found it out by accident. It works with many animals. It's hard to describe. I'll try though. You use both arms to go around them around their ribs and pull their back next to your chest and hold them close after you get control. Most will totally relax and let you carry them. 😊.Really guys? Geography...like "where you are in the world" thing isn't important? I do understand keeping up with the changes by men that cause Countries to change names but you have to know where the cool stuff is, don't you? LOL
I LOVE geography & I even loved it in school. That doesn't mean I know every country...Switzerland always gets on the wrong side of Germany in my head, where the Czech's are, don't know why...can't keep Europe straight up there, maybe because I have no urge to visit?
I just had a cool thing happen coming to work....it's 4:37AM now.
I came out of my community and down Mountain Rd till nearly the Elem school that I went to, 3/4 of a mile or so, nearly halfway into the lane, was a Fawn with spots! I swerved to miss her and turned around, leaving my truck on the opposite side of the 2 lane 40mph secondary road....not a lot of traffic at my hours, ya know?
I generally have a "rock heart" when it comes to Mother Nature well, because SHE does.....but the fawn hadn't looked injured so I figured it got lost as to where Mom said "stay" and stopped to move her. I approached her and of course she was fine with me.....girls you know. LOL
Anyway, 30 lbs feels like 275 when it's dead weight and I really didn't want to lift her in case she was injured(she wasn't) so I kind of let her keep "pose" while I kind of skootched her well off the shoulder. LOL- We both won!
What a cool way to start the day!
Yup, but aerosol cheese, processed cheese slices, cheese fountains, etc. are minus points.Do you get points for texting cheese?
An absolute font of information. Don't know what I would have done not knowing this.DEATH BY TORTOISE No. 1
Aeschylus was a famous Greek writer often described as "The Father of Tragedy".
In his later life, he was known for his shiny, bald pate.
It was written by Pliny that Aeschylus spent a lot of time indoors as there had been a prophecy that he would be killed by a falling object.
In about 525 BC, an eagle dropped a tortoise onto his gleaming rock-like cranium killing him instantly.
Some eagles and vultures in Morocco are known for dropping tortoises onto rocks to break them open, so this is potentially what the bird was trying to do.
I take my contact lenses out every night while sitting at my computer - I put them into a small dish in a little pile - they are very pretty, but I've been wondering what to do with them - I was thinking maybe a Christmas decoration? I would be delighted to send them to you !Today, I will mostly be eating contact lenses.
It really was neat. I discovered it by accident. We as humans tend to hold our babies so they can see our face. Even though the animals know we are carrying them they want to see where they are going. Or maybe our face is the last thing they want to see 🥴😁I've carried large raccoons like that too. They just totally relax and even I could just walk with them wherever I needed them to go. Their back is totally supported against your body so they don't feel threatened 🤗That's neat Ms Cathie, like how a nurse moves a patient. I thought about scooping it (the wrong way I guess)but I really didn't want to upset it anymore than enough to save it's life. BTW- it was gone when I drove home.....Yea!
