This is Koopa my Hermanns Tortoise, I got him from a pet store that rarely cares for tortoises. So they didn’t have much information on him. He is sweet as can be and very active. Loves to climb, explore and soak daily. Just not certain of his age. He is about 6 1/4 inches from the tip of his shell down to the bottom. Any guesses?

How long have you had him? And you should measure the plastron length. He is quite beautiful!

WTTC V...you will find this place knows lots about them, the Escape artists but you prob have to go to that section here.

A LOT of "views" but no guesses? Isn't this free gambling?

I'm going to guess btwn 7-12yrs....just a wag. It's an Estimate so I only have to get w/i 5%! LOL

I have zero experience with that tort so I have no context to judge by other than gut feeling.

He looks very content!

He looks lovely ! We have a Hermann's Tortoise who will be 23 years old on Saturday - we have had him since he was a baby, and he is the most important member of the family. He is very friendly and interested in everything, and really enjoys human company - which he gets a lot of. Zola had a bad start, as his shell was damaged when he was a baby -we think someone stepped on him, which split it, down his back, and he wasn't well when we got him - now he is fine, but small for his age,so I don't know the proper size he should be - but yours will be a wonderful little companion, I'm sure.

You can get a real rough guess by counting the growth rings. It's not accurate, but will give you a ROUGH idea. Not accurate because there may have been a year with no growth, or more than one growth spurt. Like I said, a rough guess.
