Since I'm in an apartment, I don't have a place for an outdoor enclosure! Sometimes I take Sheldon outside, but that's not always possible since I get swamped with papers to grade every week! So, I got a plastic tub, finally found coir for it (why were all the PetSmarts out of coir on the same day??), and set it by an open window.
There's gonna be weeds growing in it by next month!

So far he seems to love it. He hasn't tried to escape and he's been in it for an hour, just sunning. :D

I have a window box I am making also. Mine will stick out my window. However I have to have a lid on it so he won't freeze. He won't get much UVA etc, but he should get some, it has plexiglass on the top. It is almost finished. I will be posting about it once it is totally up and working for him. Just wanted some sun light for him even if he doesn't get the UVA/b. I will be using it outside in the summer also.

Direct sun counts, even if the tort is inside!
Barb, I am looking forward to your invention. It should come in really handy for other apartment dwellers.

Remember the screen blocks and refracts most of the beneficial sunlight, so while it is good he is getting some he is not getting the full value
Just FYI.
