When new Hermann arrives question??

When I my new Hermann arrives what are the thoughts on soaking? What would cause the least amount of stress? Should I give him a little soak as soon as he/she arrives or go ahead and put him/her in their habitat to get adjusted a little while and wait till bedtime to soak or the next day???

I think it depends on how you are getting your tortoise.

I got mine from a local breeder. It was a 20 minute ride home. I let her settle in her new enclosure first. I soaked her the following day.

If yours is being shipped, I'd soak first. Then I'd leave her alone for a while to settle in her new enclosure.
