Hmmm at first glance it resembles a Ouchta map or musk turtle. Looks more like a Ouchta map turtle to me but the colors arent really the same. A musk turtle has ridges that go all the way back but this one stops halfway like a map turtle so idk...

Welcome! :)

Your turtles are Indian Roofed Turtles, Kachuga tecta. Very beautiful!
Let me guess, you are in India correct? Those turtles are impossible to get here in the States. I would love to have those myself...
Here's a link to pictures of other Kachuga species, all are very unusual and cool: Kachuga Gallery

As for their care try the Turtle Forums.
You'll find more information and knowledgeable turtle people there. This forum is mostly tortoises.

Good luck!

Ah, thought it might be Kachuga tecta. Wasn't sure about those plastral markings. Do they lose their ridges as they get older?

Try a really large plastic storage bin. Just a thought...

You're welcome!

Do you have a large plastic tub/container that can hold water?
That will work too!

Make sure it has tall enough sides so the turtles can't get out. Also provide a basking area, something that the turtles can climb up on and get out of the water. Wood, rocks, something.

I'm not sure if Kachuga are good swimmers or not. So to be on the safe side, just make sure the water will deep enough so that if the turtle flips upside down, it can get right side up again. If the water is too shallow, the turtle might not be able to flip over by itself and if it's too deep it could possibly drown (that's if Kachuga are poor swimmers). A good rule to follow is the water should be about 1.5 to 2.5 times the width of the turtle. So if your turtle is 40mm wide, then the water should be somewhere between 60mm - 100mm deep.

Keep us updated. And we like pictures... ;)

Hi and welcome! It surprises me how often we do have folks needing help IDing these turtles. Are you caring if the turtles nip the fish or even eat them?
