Hello, hello! Names Anthony, but you can call my Nixxy. I'm just a laid back dude from New Hampshire who loves reptiles, and particularly our shelled friends.

I'm 22, and currently only have one turtle (A lovely little stinkpot named Ernie).

I'm glad to find a neat place to discuss our lovely shelled amigos!

I'll be sure to show some pictures soon, and to start things off..

Thank you, thank you. Yeah, she was trying to lay eggs in my garden. Safely transported her to the pond down the road, though. Poor gal must have got confused.

No, they usually DO go pretty far away from the water to find a suitable nesting site. This insures that the nest doesn't get flooded out in case of a particularly wet/rainy season.
