Where did you get him from? Also are you doing brackish water if so what are your water parameters?

actually this brings me to a question I have been having for a while now. Are concentrics a morph of a specific species? can a couple of species produce concentrics? or are they are species all to themselves.

From my understanding they are subspecies. There mangrove, ornate, northern, texanas, and concentric etc. Please someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Technically concentric means the pattern on the carapace.. and then they [ whoever they are ] threw in the patterns on the head and neck.. and then there are black concentrics and white concentrics.

But the "white" concentrics are just a color phase.. not really considered a sub-species.

I got him from a good friend who breeds them.

I now keep my group in light brackish.. 1.005 - 1.006. And intend to take it down [ no added salt with water changes ] even lower. I only took it up for a week because of a spot here and there on a couple of them.

The only real reason for keeping captive hatched in brackish is to avoid any skin ( fungus ) issues. AND the water must be kept almost clean enough to drink!

NEVER.. NEVER.. EVER keep Diamondback Terrapins { Malaclemys terrapin centrata - ( N. Carolina and North ) } with any other water turtle.

Yeah I'd have a feeling that other turtles would introduce all sorts of fungus as well as extreme fights.
