I'm not entirely sure if this would be okay, so I'm going to ask before I do it.

I am wondering if my Red Footed tortoise could have a small piece of turkey as it's protein day and it's readily available. I've already given a small piece to my Reeve's turtle as I have before but I'm not sure if it's okay for the tortoise? We only eat turkey on the holidays so it'd be something rarely fed.

Thanks for any advice.

I don't see why not as long as it was cooked with no seasonings. Plain cooked chicken is safe to feed so why wouldn't other polity be safe?

It's plain with no seasonings whatsoever.

I read an article about the tryptophan inside the turkey and it acting as a sedative and possibly not being good to feed.

Thanks for your input. I'm going to feed her a little right now. :)
