tortiose's hissing?

i have a question. we recently got a russIAN TORT. EVERYTIME WE APPROACH THE CAGE HE SEEMS TO BE HISSING. IS THIS NORMAL? I JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE HE IS OK AND HEALTHY AS I JUST GOT HIM ON THE 21 OF JUNE?

you see I always thought the "hissing" was just them having to exhale really fast to get their head back in their shell. Percy has never hissed except when he is hurrying back in his shell.

Hi it is perfectly normal,My older russian does it nearly all the time.I have also mentioned it to the vet when my torty was poorly and she said it is ok and normal for them to do this
