Tops of Red Beets

My tortoise (who has NEVER shown interest in his water before) pooped in his water today and it spread over the bottom of his stone water dish, covering the entire bottom with what looks like poop-colored mold or diarrhea. It may be because I fed him the top, leafy part (below) of red beets.
Please help!

Hi, Rachel.
Tidgy has had beetroot tops a couple of times, but only a little and with no diarrhoea.
The Tortoisetable says that they are not poisonous but contain a high amount of oxalic acid and should be fed sparingly when your tortoise is well hydrated. The actual beet should not be fed at all.
Just return to Caesar's regular diet and ensure he has lots of water to flush it through and rehydrate him.
Hopefully, it will soon pass.
