To hibernate or not.....

Hi There

I have a 5 year old female Horsefield Tortoise. She has really slowed down since the weather got colder however so far I have never hibernated her. I am thinking about whether to do it this year but am new to it so wanted some advice please. She currently weighs 1kg. Is she an ok weight to hibernate and if so, could anyone give me some advice on how to do it well?
