Thinking of planting inside

I keep reading about how weeds are best for tortoises so I want to give him some "outside" plants rather than store bought, however with winter heading this way I was wondering if this is something I can do inside. I read someone's plan of having many tubs of food growing and then switching them out. I like this idea. Are there any seed mixes or flowers that I could grow in the house that anyone recommends? I'll probably end up buying from tortoise supply, so anything they have that you can recommend would be great. Roger is a female adult (I think) greek.
