I am adopting a 70lb male sulcata and will be picking him up in two weeks. I am almost complete with his house and about to start beefing up the fence around his enclosure. The area is approx. 8,000 sq.ft. and I am planning to add 2 - 2x10's around the base attached to 4x4 posts sunken in the ground and secured with concrete. A 2x10 is 9-1/4" high, so my double run will be roughly 18" high with the bottom edge sunken in the dirt. Is that tall enough to keep him from peeking over the top? Thank you!

Yes. I contain my adults with 18" of stacked slumpstone block.

I think your enclosure will be plenty sturdy and I would love to see pics whenever you are ready. Your plan for building sounds exceptionally good and a "How-To" step by step thread would help a lot of people if you have the time to make one.
