I "may" be in a position to take in some Star tortoises in the future. May be many months, and possible years from now...but I would like to get an idea of what I may be stepping into. I have a pretty good handle on basic tortoise care, and specifically, sulcatas and redfoots.

How does a star tortoise differ in husbandry? I know they are not beginner species.

If they are well started captive bred animals, they are super easy. People run into problems with some of the imports. With your background with other reptiles and a good care sheet, you won't have any issues caring for a well started Star.

Neal's care sheet is really good: http://www.grandcanyonstatetortoises.com/lastcs.html
