Ok. so we were at the herp show here in San Antonio last weekend and there were quite a few torts, leapords and redfoots and sulcatas. One lady that was selling a sulcata hatchling told the buyer that it was ok to soak maybe once a week, but they were desert torts and got all their water from the food!!!
After she finished the sale, I went and found the buyer and we had a good discussion on sulcatas, size, habitats, food, water... I explained to her that is was a good idea to soak everyday unless the tort was doing it themselves. Told her to get spring mix for food. Also told her about this website. I hope she uses it.

I will be keeping an eye on craigslist for the next couple of months and see how many baby reptiles end up there. Seems to me that caymans and savannah monitors are not good pet show animals to buy on the spur of the moment!!!
