hello,
i thought that i should share some pics of my stars(indian) ,they both are yearlings,i don't know their gender but who cares, i still love them.

this is shelly(sheldon) may be a male

this is cindy(cinderella) may be a female and she hates cameras

Also.i wanted to ask that are they growing ok,i know it's difficult to tell from pics but you can still guess .

nice star tortoise, i love it, i wish to have them as well, but is illegal rear in malaysia...:(

you can try different species of tortoises....

now i hv 1 russian tortoise, i was thinking to have other tortoise, but is hard to get from malaysia...:(
sulcata tortoise is easy to get, but i worry the size after they grow big...

i wanted to ask the experts here that, can i feed them fenugreek leaves to the tortoise? Also, can i have alfalfa as a substrate ?

What part of Malaysia are you in? Cos the star torts are for sale everywhere and I have never heard of them being illegal. I live on Borneo and have seen them for sale in Miri/Sibu/Kuching... and saw them in Phuket and KL when I was there on vacation.

I would go with coco coir as a substrate. It hold's A LOT more humidity ;) I don't know about the plant, sorry.

today i replaced the previous substrate with a 50/50 top soil and coco coir and they seem to enjoy it.
thank you everyone :)
