Hi guys, I should move my reed foot in the external enclosure, but for a mistake of my mother this fence was occupied by my Herman tortoise, how I have to treat the substrate in order to don't have problem?

So you are wanting to put the Redfoot tortoise outside? If the enclosure is already used by another species then I would just make a duplicate of the one the other tort is in and use that....is that possible?

Hi Cosimo:

I'm not quite understanding your problem. When you say 'external' do you mean outside? If this is the case, then just water it well and let the sun shine on it for a week or so. Make sure you pick up any feces left behind by the previous tortoise. If it is substrate and not native soil, then just rake it up and replace it with new substrate.
